Our fleet is maintained on a fixed schedule, not on complaints. Every vehicle is serviced at manufacturer-recommended intervals and inspected between rentals before it goes out again.
Each inspection covers tyres and tyre pressure, brakes, fluid levels, lights, air conditioning and a full interior clean. Vehicles return to service only once each check is signed off.
Our fleet ranges from 2020 to 2026 models, with the majority from the last three years. Every car is registered, insured and road-legal in the UAE, and comes with 24/7 roadside assistance if anything goes wrong while you are driving.

Every extra above is optional except Salik and fines, which are charged only if you incur them. Nothing is added to your booking unless you select it.
Why monthly rentals cost less per day
An MG MG5 costs AED 99.99 per day on a daily booking and AED 59.99 per day on a monthly one, a difference of AED 40 a day, or roughly AED 1,200 over a month. Longer bookings mean fewer handovers, fewer inspections and less idle time between rentals, and that saving is passed on in the rate.
The trade-off is mileage: monthly rentals include 100 km per day rather than 200 km. If you drive more than that, extra kilometres are AED 1 each so an average of 150 km per day on a monthly rental works out at AED 59.99 plus AED 50, still below the daily rate.
Security Deposit and Deposit Waiver
A security deposit is standard across UAE car rental. It exists because tolls, fines and parking charges arrive weeks after a rental ends, and the deposit covers them. You have two options with KOR: pay the deposit and have it returned, or pay a one-off waiver fee and skip it.
How the deposit works
The deposit amount depends on the vehicle category and is payable in cash, by debit card or by credit card at the start of the rental.
It is held against anything outstanding on your contract Salik and Darb tolls, parking charges, traffic fines, late returns and damage. Once those are settled, the balance is returned by bank transfer.
Our Terms & Conditions allow up to 30 working days for this, because fines can take weeks to reach us. In practice we clear deposits sooner. Deposits must be claimed within six months of the rental ending.
Deposit Waiver
If you would rather not tie up the deposit amount, you can take our Deposit Waiver instead:

The waiver is a one-off, non-refundable fee that removes the upfront deposit requirement. Minimum booking is two days.
Salik, tolls and traffic fines are still your responsibility under the waiver; they are invoiced to you after the rental instead of being deducted from a deposit.
Which option makes sense
The waiver costs AED 199 on a monthly rental. Whether that is worth it depends on how much the deposit would be and how long you would rather not have it tied up.
If you are renting for a month and would otherwise have a deposit held for that month plus clearing time afterwards, the waiver is usually the simpler choice. For a two or three day rental, paying the deposit and getting it back is often cheaper.
What You Need to Rent a Car in the UAE

If you hold UAE residency, you must drive on a UAE licence. Driving on a home country or international licence once you have a residence visa is not legal here, and an accident report showing a non-UAE licence will not be accepted by the insurer which would leave you liable for the full repair cost and the rental charges for the repair period.

Licences issued in a language other than Arabic or English must be translated and the translation attested by your embassy.
Countries exempt from the International Driving Licence
If your licence was issued in one of the following countries, you do not need an IDL but you must hold both the passport and the licence from that same country, and have held the licence for at least 12 months:

Age and licence requirements

- Additional drivers must meet the same requirements and be named on the rental contract
If an accident occurs, the driver named on the police report must match the name on the contract. If it does not, the insurance is void.
Driving in the UAE: What to Know
Salik and road tolls
Salik is Dubai's automatic toll system. There are no booths; a tag on the windscreen is read as you pass a gate and the charge is logged. Abu Dhabi runs a similar system called Darb.
Tolls incurred during your rental are charged to you at cost after the rental ends, either deducted from your deposit or invoiced if you took the Deposit Waiver.
Traffic fines
Traffic and parking fines are the responsibility of the driver, as they would be in your own car. Fines often reach us weeks after a rental ends, which is why deposits are held for a period after return.
Fines are charged at cost plus an administration fee.
Fuel policy
We operate tank-to-tank. The car is handed over at a recorded fuel level and should be returned at that same level. There is no refuelling charge if you return it as you received it, and no charge for fuel you have not used.
Speed limits
Limits are signposted and camera-enforced:
- Residential areas: 40 to 60 km/h
- City roads: 60 to 80 km/h
- Highways: 100 to 120 km/h in most emirates, up to 140 km/h on some Abu Dhabi roads
Some roads allow a small buffer above the posted limit and others do not, so follow the signs rather than assuming.
Driving between emirates
KOR vehicles may be driven anywhere within the UAE on paved roads.
Insurance does not cover off-road driving, desert, muddy or flooded areas, or any use outside UAE territory. Driving to Oman is not covered.

Booking and documents
What documents do I need to rent a car in the UAE?
UAE residents need a passport, Emirates ID and a valid UAE driving licence. Visitors need a passport, a visa or entry stamp, a home country driving licence and an International Driving Licence unless their licence was issued in one of 36 exempt countries, including the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and most of the EU.
What is the minimum age to rent a car with KOR?
22. Your UAE driving licence must also be at least one year old to qualify for comprehensive insurance.
Can tourists rent a car in the UAE?
Yes. You need your passport, your visa or entry stamp, your home country licence, and an International Driving Licence unless your country is on the exempt list.
Do I need an International Driving Licence?

How much does it cost to rent a car in the UAE with KOR?
Daily rates start at AED 99.99 for an MG MG5 or Mitsubishi Attrage. The same cars are AED 59.99 per day on a monthly plan. A seven-seater Kia Carnival is AED 199.99 daily and AED 149.99 per day monthly. VAT of 5% applies.
What payment methods do you accept?
Debit card, credit card and cash.
Is VAT included in the price?
Rates are quoted before VAT. 5% VAT is added to the rental total.
Do I pay in advance?
Yes. The rental amount is paid in advance at the start of the contract, and again in advance for any extension.
What happens if I return the car early?
Paid rental charges are not refunded, and monthly or weekly rates convert to the daily rate for the days used. If you may need to return early, a shorter booking is usually better value than a longer one cut short.
Insurance and deposit
Is insurance included?
Yes, comprehensive insurance is included in every rental. If you are not at fault there is no excess. If you are at fault, the excess is AED 2,500. An optional Collision Damage Waiver is available for AED 25.
What is an insurance excess?
The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim before the insurer covers the rest. With KOR it is AED 2,500 if you are at fault in an accident, and zero if you are not.
Do I have to pay a security deposit?
A deposit is taken on all rentals, with the amount depending on the vehicle category. Alternatively you can take our Deposit Waiver AED 25 per day for 1–6 days, AED 99 for 7–13 days, or AED 199 for 14 days and over and skip the deposit entirely.
When do I get my deposit back?
The deposit is returned by bank transfer once tolls, fines and any charges are settled. Our terms allow up to 30 working days, because fines can take weeks to reach us, though we usually clear deposits sooner. Deposits must be claimed within six months.
What does the deposit cover?
Salik and Darb tolls, parking charges, traffic fines, late returns, outstanding rental charges and damage.
What is not covered by the insurance?
Off-road driving, desert, muddy or flooded areas, and any use outside the UAE. The cover applies to paved roads within the UAE only.
Mileage, fuel and delivery
Is there a mileage limit?
Yes. Daily rentals include 200 km per day, weekly rentals 170 km per day, and monthly rentals 100 km per day. Additional kilometres are AED 1 each.
What happens if I exceed the mileage allowance?
Extra kilometres are charged at AED 1 each. On a monthly rental, driving 150 km per day instead of 100 adds AED 50 per day — still below the daily rate for the same car.
What is the fuel policy?
Tank-to-tank. The car is handed over at a recorded fuel level and should be returned at the same level.
Do you deliver the car?
Yes, across all seven emirates. Delivery is AED 100 in Dubai with AED 100 for collection, AED 150 to Sharjah or Ajman, and AED 250 to Abu Dhabi.

No. KOR vehicles are for non-commercial passenger use only.
Changes and extensions
Can I extend my rental?
Yes. Extensions must be requested formally, with an extension agreement signed and the rental paid in advance, within three days of the contract expiry date.
What if I cannot come to the office to extend?
We can arrange a temporary extension remotely. Extended days are charged at the standard daily rate rather than the rate on your expired contract, unless we agree otherwise by email or WhatsApp.
Is there a grace period for returning the car?
No. Rentals run on a 24-hour basis and any delay, even by an hour, counts as a full additional day.
What happens if I do not return the car or extend it?
The contract expires on the agreed date. If the vehicle is not returned or formally extended, we may remotely deactivate the engine and recover the vehicle.
